Last week, my CTO, Louis (the genius behind the Aeva AI system) woke up with another brilliant idea.
There was a problem that our new customers were facing when they went to set up their AI receptionist. Getting the AI to explain all of their messy appointment types.
I get it though, as a practice, its pretty uncommon to only have simple ‘initial’ and ‘follow up’ appointments. Practices are unique, they have lots of services, different appointments for insurance vs private, male vs female, age. Due to this, every AI receptionist must ask unique questions to help guide the patient to book the right appointment type.
We were noticing when practice owners first jumped on board, they were a bit lost with how to set this up, or were saying that they didn’t think AI was suitable for them because of their complex appointment type setup. We were always there to help, but we knew there must be an easier and faster way.
Louis, our CTO built an AI agent thats sole purpose was to help with this.
Now when a practice owner goes to set up their questions, instead of feeling lost, they just click one button. Our new AI agent instantly analyses their entire library of appointment types and generates a full script of questions and logic. It does about 90% of the work for them, showing exactly how to guide patients to the right appointment. Just like that.
Our job is to make practitioners’ lives easier, so we never stop thinking of random ways to help our customers get the most out of Aeva.

There’s something about stepping out of the day-to-day grind and working side by side in a new place that sparks a different kind of thinking. Right now, it’s just us, a whiteboard, strong coffee, and a list of bold improvements and features we’re building to give our existing customers even more and to shape the next chapter of Aeva.
