Hey there! Chris here from Aeva AI receptionist for Cliniko

We’ve now crossed over 100,000 calls handled by our AI. That’s 100,000 moments where a patient called a clinic and, instead of voicemail or a rushed front desk, was greeted by a receptionist that never gets tired, distracted or overwhelmed.

But two calls recently made me stop in my tracks.

One came from a solo practitioner, Tom who’s been with us since the start of the year. He told me something he’s been dealing with for over 12 months and how Aeva finally gave him back control.

Last year, he wrote a blog post titled “Cheap MRI - How You Might Get One”. It ranks really well on Google, which should be great. But instead, it’s turned into a magnet for calls from people thinking he offers MRI services.

Same call, again and again. Total waste of time. Draining. Frustrating.

When he signed up to Aeva, he was just relieved to not be picking up the phone anymore. But what surprised him (and me), was how well his AI handled these exact calls once he gave it a bit of extra info.

Impressive Call #1

Patient: “My name is X. I was just wondering how much would a knee MRI costs.”

Aeva AI: “Thanks for your question X. We actually don't provide MRI services here, as we're not a radiology clinic. If you came across our blog article about getting a cheap MRI, it might be helpful to read through that for tips on finding the most cost effective imaging options.”

Patient: “No, I'm here on the site, and it says there are cheap MRIs. How might I get one?”

Aeva AI: “No worries, X. Yes. Our website does have an article titled Cheap MRIs and How You Might Get one. That article is designed to help people find affordable MRI options. But we don't actually offer MRI scans ourselves. If you read through the article, it should give you some useful advice on how to find these services.”

Then the AI shifted gears, effortlessly:
if you'd like to book an appointment for your knee, we’d also be happy to help. Would you like information about our treatments or to book a session with Tom, our chiropractor?”

That kind of nuance is not easy to build. It’s one thing for an AI to answer a question, it’s another thing entirely to redirect the conversation with understanding and intent.

Aeva isn’t a Q&A bot. We’ve built it to behave like an actual receptionist, one that listens, adapts, and steers things toward the best outcome. That’s been our obsession from day one.

Amazing Call #2

Another great story comes from a new customer, Todd. He set up Aeva and named his AI receptionist Poppy.

A patient rang in one morning to say she was running late. She wasn’t expecting much. Maybe a voicemail or a message template. But instead, Poppy picked up and said:

“It's fine that you're running a few minutes late. I’ll pass on the message to Todd now. Please drive safely.”

That moment stuck with her. When she came in for her appointment with Todd, they had a great laugh together saying they couldn’t believe how effective and human the experience really feels.

Our pricing change (only for new subscriptions)

After supporting 800+ practitioners over the last 1 year, we have created a no brainer offer. In which, practice owners can set up an AI receptionist that can save missed patient calls and ensure 24/7 call answering for less than a cup of coffee per day.

But the truth is, the models we use to power Aeva are world-class. We don’t cut corners. Every call uses the best voice AI models available globally layered with our own logic, security, memory, experience and customisation.

We’ve reached a point now where, to keep pushing forward without compromise, the numbers need to match the quality we’re committed to.

So from next week, any new plans will follow our increased pricing.

If you’re already using Aeva, you’re locked in on your current plan at our early adopters rate. Your price stays the same, and we’ll honour that for as long as possible. (a more in depth clarification of this will be sent to our customers in the coming days before the change)

If you’ve been thinking about trying Aeva, this week is the last chance to come in under the early pricing. After that, the new plans take effect.

If you’re unsure what this means or want to talk it through, hit reply or give me a call. I’ll answer anything, happily.

Built for the Long Haul

We started Aeva with a simple idea, that no practitioner should ever lose a patient just because they missed a call.

A year later, it’s grown into something far bigger than we imagined. Every week, I’m reminded just how powerful it is when the right technology shows up, at the right time, in the right voice.

We’re building Aeva for the long haul. The kind of product that makes you feel proud to say “this is how we run our clinic now.”

Thanks for being part of this early chapter.

From your AI partners.
